Lasik for the future?

I don't know whether should I feel nervous or scare. I'm pretty sure that most of us would have heard of LASIK as the newest expensive cure to shortsightedness and astigmatism? Last year or 2 years ago, VISTA, one of the famous eye specialist center in Malaysia was having a free eye check up. I was pretty interested to know more about LASIK, how it's carried out, what are the risks and most importantly, the PRICE!

These are some of the general guidelines for you if you want to perform LASIK:
• Minimum 18 years old
• Have healthy eyes with no eye diseases or corneal abnormality
• Sufficient corneal thickness
• Are not pregnant or currently nursing

The most important one would be having sufficient corneal thickness because without that, you can't go for the surgery. So, they put me through a series of small test to check whether I have all the requirements to go for it. The results? YES, I am eligible for it! Then, they will show you a video on how the surgery is performed and then explained to you what are the steps and precautions to take pre, during and post surgery.

Here's a picture to briefly tell you how the surgery is done.

They used to have two options for the surgery, one priced around RM3000++ per eye and the other priced about RM4000++ per eye. I went to see them the other day as this time I'm pretty determined to go for it as my mom was encouraging me mainly because my eye sight was pretty bad (6.00). I'm surprised that they still have my details in their database. After checking my spectacles, the optician said that my power did not increase too drastically from the previous, so it shall be okay if I want to perform the surgery soon. Bad news is, they do not have the RM3000++ per eye surgery anymore, so it's all RM4000++. Basically you are paying a RM 10000 for your eyes to be cured! Well, it's an investment for a lifetime clear eyesight, why not?

Talking about soon, exactly how soon is soon? I'm actually going for the eye test tomorrow! Heart beats like crazy as I'm blogging about it! I was thinking of postponing it till mid of February but seems like time waits for no one as I am planning to go to Bali in early March. The only option I have is to do it asap as I need a minimum of one month to recover. So, appointment is set, February 6! Tomorrow would be a detailed test of the eye sight and all, like a preparation for the surgery, estimated to take around 3 hours! My butt is so going to be numb from that.

I'll try to blog about my whole experience throughout this surgery, so do stay tune for more updates!

Wish me luck!

Food: Cosans Coffee

Time really flies.. So fast it's another weekend and it's so close to CNY already! Have you done your shopping yet? I'm sure the shopping malls would be more crowded than usual with all the last minute shoppers, not to mention the jams and parking issues. The thought of it makes me lazy and don't want to leave the house (sloth mode on).

In case you didn't know yet, there's a new coffee house in Subang!
It just opened recently and they had a private event with invited fellow bloggers for a little food & coffee tasting. I didn't get a photo of the exterior as they were still setting up some lights and stuff (didn't want to kacau their work).

First impression when I stepped in, "Yup, I'm starting to like this place already even without tasting the food yet". I really like their interior space, it's all so simple yet cozy which makes you feel like you want to just enjoy your coffee and spend whole day reading some romantic novel there. Plus, their staffs were really friendly and welcoming (bonus points for them)!

Everyone's favorite, goody bags!

I was already starting to feel a little hungry when I got there and looking at this doesn't make things better.
Seems like they have already arranged them accordingly; salads for starter, sandwiches for main and cakes for dessert. They do have soups too! But they weren't serving soups that evening so I didn't get to try.

It was still early when we got there so we went around taking some photos.

The sofas were different but they complement each other well. Something different from the ordinary cafes which has same tables and chairs. I like really the posters hung around together with the mini spotlights, all adds to the vibe.
Oh, did I mention that the sofas are uber comfy to sit on too?

This spot would be awesome if you have a big group of people. Really love the big windows, can do some people watching while sipping a cuppa.

Their signature house blends; Equarre and Carreau.
Carreau has a fruitier and sweeter taste while Equarre is bitter and has a nutty taste.
(read more about it here)
My pick: Carreau House Blend

Left: Cappucino
Right: Cosans Latte (one of the signatures)

Our drinks were free flow that evening, how nice of them!
Wide selection of drinks : coffee, frappe, tea, sodas, chocolate drinks and yogurt smoothies

I did not pick which beans I wanted for my coffee so the barista prep it for me. I tasted bitter and strong burnt taste then I added some sugar into it. It's better but the burnt taste lingers there. As for the Latte, it has the right balance of both coffee and milk while the level of sweetness is perfect even without sugar.

They serve their coffee with brown sugar ❤

We were served two of their sandwiches that evening; Asianese Roasted Chicken and Smoked Duckling.

Love the tender juicy chicken thighs, lemongrass and overall flavor but it would be better if there's a bit more chicken in it as I tasted more of the greens rather than a balance of both. I would also prefer if they ask the customers whether or not they want to have coriander in it. I know it's part of the recipe but I am a strong hater of coriander :(

This is something that I would go for during my next visit there. Smoked duck with mozarella, arugula and tomatoes, how does that sound to you? Heaven! :D I definitely prefer this much more than the Asianese Roasted Chicken as the duck was good together with the cheese, everything seems to go perfectly well with each other.
Blogging about it now makes me hungry.

My most anticipated session for the evening, a demonstration by their award winning barista on the two coffee brewing methods; Aeropress and Pour Over. You would never guess that preparing a good cuppa coffee requires tonnes of effort behind it.

CEO of Cosans Coffee, Mr Matthew introduced and thanked his staffs one by one for all of their hard work in making the cafe happened. In less than 3 months, they came up with everything from scratch, from the concepts, designs, all the way to the art of coffee. He also mentioned the meaning behind Cosans.

Co = Coffee, San = Sense, S = Social Responsibility

After that, they had a lucky draw session where 6 winners are picked. Too bad I wasn't in luck.

We continued to mingle around and have more drinks!

Some of the fellow bloggers that we managed to take a photo with using Emily's camera! :D
I'm so happy to meet all of you lovelies

The staff took a polaroid shot of us. Yay for the photo as Jessica and Jia Qi's in it!

Try to spot us when you visit this cafe!

In each of our goody bag ...
A bag of Carreau house blend (YAY!)
Two packets of Dammann Fréres tea; Black tea and Chamomile herbal tea
Two packets of Gryphon's artisan selection teas; Hanami (blend #152) and Lemon Ginger Mint (blend #212)
A name card with the serial number for the earlier lucky draw session

. . . . . . . . . . . . . .

My overall experience there was great, will definitely drop by again for a cuppa soon!

Benefits of Vinegar (life hacks for house chores)

So, recently I saw a video in Facebook on how vinegar can help in solving some of your house chore problems. One of them is how to use vinegar and baking soda to unclog your blocked drainage. I shared the video with my mom and she decided to go get the items to do our own little experience at home since the sink in one of our washrooms is blocked.

Went to the supermarket in Aeon to get the stuff but all we found was artificial white vinegar and distilled white vinegar. Didn't know what are their differences but we went on with the artificial one since the distilled one looked more diluted.

Experience #1:
I just view the video quickly to see which one goes first, the vinegar or baking soda.
Answer: Baking soda

So, I poured a quarter of it then I mixed with some water and then poured a half glass of vinegar in another glass. Then we poured them into the sink as mentioned in the video. No burst of bubbles / reaction similar to the video. Maybe mixing the baking soda with water was a NO NO? Attempt #1 FAILED.

Experience #2:
I view the video again to realize that it's half a glass of baking soda and a full glass of vinegar. We have another 3/4 left of the baking soda and it's almost half of a glass so we decided to pour the whole thing and this time, we just gonna pour it raw. Together with a glass of vinegar, we tried again. And again, there is no such vigorous reaction as seen in the video.

But we did notice that the water flow is slightly better and faster than before. Attempt #2 = HALF FAILED?
Then I just poured the remaining vinegar to wash down the baking soda's residue. There was some 'bloop bloop' sounds coming from inside, so maybe there's some magic working down there.

~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~

Anyhow, the rest of the tips seem pretty legit to me. Like how to remove those stubborn sticky stains from stickers/tapes or remove wrinkles off your clothes without ironing.

Check out the video here:

If you have tried out any of those mentioned, you can always share your experience in the comment box below. Sharing is caring! (:
Hope you enjoy reading this post!

Shopping Online: Yay or Nay?

Shopping online, I'm sure this is one thing that every girl is guilty of at least once. If you are not, it's not too late to catch up with it. Okay, I sound like a total bad influence.

There were many discussions around whether is it worth or safe to shop online since scams are everywhere. Of course, it's not all bad. So far all of my shopping sprees done online had been good.
Let's see the good and bad!

Advantages:
 A whole lot of choices
No queue for fitting room is needed
  Wide price range
Can select and compare easily among stores
 Save time
Get the latest fashion updates instantly
Not that easy to bum into people wearing the same clothes

Disadvantages:
✗ Cannot see, touch or feel the real material
✗ May get scammed of quality
✗ No fitting available (Cannot try on the clothes)
✗ Delivery of parcels not guaranteed
Have to standby and wait for courier's arrival

~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~

These are some of them that I can think of from my experience. Of course, I would also like to share a list of online boutiques that I have shopped before / some of my favorites!

http://allkinds-of-everything.blogspot.com
Zalora
Groupon
Gossips Boutique
Kiss and Tell

What to expect from shopping online;
Lotsa cute stuff, nice packaging & personalized 'thank you' notes!

Not a very long list because I still do love shopping in malls and mostly I'll stick to my favorites.
Hope you enjoy reading this post and for those who plans to try out shopping online for the very first time,
bonne chance!

Much loves, xoxo.

Easy Food on Busy Days

Recently I've been such a bum at home. Probably I'm totally engrossed in my "holiday mood". Not a bad thing after all right? All humans will definitely need a break after a while. My normal daily routine for now; wake up in the afternoon, shower, laze in front of the tv, praying that food would appear right in front of me..
Sounds like a total sloth right?

Feed me?

While I was browsing through the net looking for food, I found this food site named "Foodpanda". It's basically a hub for all the restaurants and it works like any other normal food delivery such as Mcd and Domino's. Apparently, it gathers more than 400 restaurants for a wide variety of choices and they covered most major cities such as Kuala Lumpur, Petaling Jaya, Penang, Johor Bahru, Melaka and Ipoh.

Did I mention that ordering food from them is super easy?
ONLY few simple steps:

1. Choose your city and enter your location. Then, click on "Find food now!"

2. A list of restaurants available in your area will then be shown. You can even use the 'category filter' on the left to ease your selection of choices. Pick your choice of restaurant.

3. Select your cravings and the amount wanted in the order box on the right. After you are done, click on "Proceed to checkout".

4. If you are not logged into the system, this would appear. You'll just have to key in your details.

They also have the "pickup" option other than delivery.
Also, a bonus for all Bcard members, points are collectible for your orders!

5. After placing and confirming your order, all you have to do now is sit back, relax and wait for your food to arrive at your doorstep!

This is such a bliss as we are spoilt with more choices rather than the normal everyday fast food deliveries.
Also, the whole convenience of it..

There's no more the need to be stuck in the jam, the hassle of finding parking spots, queuing for tables and waiting for food in the restaurants. You can now enjoy your favorite foods at the comfort of your home with just a few clicks away! :p

They also have DEALS frequently!

If you don't like clicking away using a laptop and mouse, you can always download their app and swipe away on your touchscreens. It's equally user-friendly as their website!

Makeup: Conceal, Be Bold and Set it! (Sephora)

Dear lovely readers,
Thank you all so much for an awesome 2013! It's been about half a year since I started blogging and I feel so happy to receive so much love and support from all of you out there. One of my resolutions is to blog more interesting things and get involved in more events! So, fingers crossed that all goes well this year. I wish best of luck to all of my readers and have an awesome 2014! Bonne chance!

 ~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~

I've been wandering around in malls since my semester break started as I was looking for some stuff and also to do some random shopping. The boyfie made a sweet promise to get me one of Urban Decay's Naked palettes after I excitedly told him I wanted to go and see Naked 3's palette (btw, I did not expect nor have the intention for him to get one, that's why it was a really sweet deal). So, we went to Sephora in Sunway Pyramid the first day and they said that it's out of stock in all branches :(

Oh well.. Tough luck to get one for now but as it's not mandatory for me to have one, it's okay. Then I remember that I wanted to try and get a red lipstick. Initially I wanted to get a lipstain as I've read and seen a lot of reviews that it's hard work to apply and maintain a red lipstick. But there weren't a lot of options for the lip stain, so I went around Sephora looking for my red lipstick. After more than half an hour, I finally found one which is both affordable and up to my requirements (awesome color and texture).

Clinique's High Impact Lip Colour
(Color chosen: No.12 Red-y to Wear)
Price : RM 68

My opinions:
Love the texture and color
 Long lasting wear
 Easy to apply on
SUPER in LOVE with the color!
Matte application but subtle glossy finish
Love the packaging; simple and glamorously chic
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

The end product

While queuing to pay, I saw this makeup setting spray at the mini counters near the cashier lane. I remember seeing some makeup gurus using such sprays on Youtube, so bought one to try since I don't like the hassle of touching up my makeup and bringing a whole bag of makeup with me when I'm out.

Urban Decay's All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray
(travel size)
RM49

"Is makeup meltdown ruining your midnight mojo? Mist on this weightless spray to give your makeup serious staying power. Developed in an exclusive partnership with SKINDINÄVIA, this groundbreaking, clinically tested formula is suitable for all skin types and features patented Temperature Control Technology. It actually lowers the temperature of your makeup to keep foundation, eyeshadow, blush, and concealer in place—even in hot and humid or cold and windy conditions. The result? Smoother-looking skin and vibrant makeup that lasts all day (or night) without melting, cracking, fading, or settling into fine lines."

My opinions:
Light weight, you don't feel it once you spray it on
Works as stated, really holds your makeup
(NO laughing lines even after you laughed like mad for an hour)
Love the design and feel of the packaging

Disadvantages:
- The spray is very strong, I prefer it better if it's fine as normal mist sprays

Last but not least, my 3rd finding in Sephora would be this concealer. I found this on another day when I visited Paradigm's Sephora.

Tarte's Amazonian's Clay Waterproof Concealer
(Color chosen: Light)
RM 90

My opinions:
Color is very natural, blends well with my skin
Light texture but buildable, so it won't appear cakey
 Easily blendable
Since it's all natural, suitable for sensitive skin
 Animal cruelty free!
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

End of my purchase, they offered me their Sephora White Card. There's no annual registration fee or whatsoever, several other benefits offered and you can collect points, why not?

It's definitely a good buy I must say. Hope you all enjoy reading this review.
Happy New Year! ;)

Much loves, xoxo.

Hong Kong (Part 2): Dim Sum and Ocean Park

Oh boy, there goes my procrastination and half a year has passed since I made up my mind to comeback to the world of blogging. Many things ...
